The Annual Meeting of the Gilbert Board of Education was a celebration of the past, as well as a nod to the future on Monday, December 8, 2025.
Outgoing school board member Melissa Pearson sat with her colleagues for the final time and was presented with a crystal figurine for her years of service to the Gilbert Community School District. Mrs. Pearson was appointed to the board to fill a vacancy in November of 2022, and a year later the voters of the district officially appointed her to fill the remaining two years in the position.
We are so thankful that, when called upon, Mrs. Pearson stepped into a vital role and served her community.
Following the recognition for Mrs. Pearson, Jerud Thompson and Josh Bennett took the oath of office to complete the Board of Education. Mr. Bennett was re-elected to his position, while Mr. Thompson will serve on the board for the first time.
